INDICATIONS
Actonel (risedronate sodium) tablets is a pyridinyl bisphosphonate that inhibits osteoclast-mediated bone resorption and modulates bone metabolism. Risedronic acid (INN) or risedronate sodium (USAN) is a bisphosphonate utilized to strengthen bone, treat or prevent osteoporosis, and treat Paget's disease of bone.
INSTRUCTIONS
Take Actonel exactly as your physician prescribes. Do not take a Actonel tablet if you can't sit upright or stand for at least 30 minutes. Do not take two different strengths of Actonel tablet simultaneously.
If you are taking Actonel only once per week, get it on the same day and time per week.
Do not crush, chew, or suck the Actonel tablet. Swallow the pill whole. The enteric coated pill features a special coating to safeguard your throat and stomach. Breaking the pill will damage this coating.
If you'll want any dental work (especially surgery), tell the dentist ahead of time that you're using Actonel. You may need to stop with all the medicine to get a short period of time.
